a leading black‐owned construction business
Concor is a leading black‐owned construction business based in South Africa and built on a rich legacy. We stand ready to help build South Africa’s exciting next growth phase.
Some of our continent’s most iconic projects include the tallest high‐rise in Africa, The Gautrain, Cape Town Stadium and Melrose Arch, all proudly built by Concor, a diversified, black‐owned construction company with a 116‐year legacy and the passion and know‐how to help build South Africa’s future.
Concor’s capabilities include building, civils, power, property development, infrastructure and open‐cast mining. We deliver large, complex projects, using innovative methods, on time, with safety paramount.
Concor’s history goes back to 1902, when Murray and Stewart was founded in Cape Town. The company played a key role in developing one of Africa’s most celebrated cities.
Meanwhile, the Roberts Construction Corporation was founded in 1948 in Johannesburg, becoming involved in numerous infrastructure projects that helped equip Africa for growth in the 20th century. Murray & Roberts was formed in 1967 following its merger with Murray & Stewart, but the two companies continued to operate as separate businesses until all operations were fully consolidated in 1979.
In 2016, Murray & Roberts was acquired by a Southern Palace Group led consortium, and is now a wholly black‐owned, Level 1 B‐BBEE company providing infrastructure across sub‐Saharan Africa.
We have been privileged to work on buildings and infrastructure that have become iconic for their innovation, inspirational value and their role in developing our continent.
